"WE WILL STRENGTHEN INTERNATIONAL SOLIDARITY IN LOCAL GOVERNMENTS"

Union of Municipalities of Türkiye (UMT) Executive Board Member Ayşe Ünlüce attended the UMT Executive Board Meeting held in Ankara.

The meeting, chaired by UMT Deputy President Vahap Seçer, took place at the Union's headquarters in Ankara. With the participation of representatives from Eurocities, discussions focused on international municipal cooperation and solidarity among local governments.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on strengthening international relations, enhancing local public services, and expanding cooperation among municipalities. Mayors and senior municipal officials shared experiences and perspectives on developing joint initiatives at the international level.

Sharing her views on social media following the meeting, Ayşe Ünlüce stated:

"Within the framework of our Executive Board Meeting chaired by our Deputy President of the Union of Municipalities of Türkiye, Mr. Vahap Seçer, we came together with mayors and representatives from member cities of Eurocities. We discussed key issues aimed at strengthening international solidarity among local governments, increasing the exchange of experience, and developing joint projects. Subsequently, as members of the UMT Executive Board, we held our regular Executive Board Meeting for February. I hope that the decisions we have taken will be beneficial for all our municipalities."
