Students from Eskişehir Osmangazi University's Political Science and Public Administration Club organized a meaningful event to gain firsthand insight into local government processes and practical experience. Through the 'Council Simulation' they held in the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Council Chamber, the students experienced the atmosphere of a real municipal council.
As part of the simulation, university students acting as mayor, council secretary, and council members experienced the workings of the municipal council. The students discussed their envisioned projects, ideas, and proposals for Eskişehir during the council simulation, which at times led to lively moments. Experiencing a transparent, participatory, and democratic approach to governance from the council benches, the excitement of the young participants was clearly visible on their faces.
Club President Sefa Yılmaz said, 'As students, we place great importance on experiencing this democratic process not just in theory, but also in practice. Experiencing this atmosphere firsthand, right here where the event took place, has truly been a great opportunity for us. We sincerely thank our Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and the municipality's administration for providing us with this opportunity,' he added.
