METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY REACHES THE TOP WITH DORLION OLIVE OIL
The Dorlion extra virgin olive oils produced by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality in the Sarıcakaya district, under the unique microclimate conditions of the Middle Sakarya Valley and through sustainable methods, achieved great success at the 19th Extra Virgin Olive Oil Quality Competition, one of the most respected organizations in the olive oil world, organized by the Zeytindostu Derneği. All four samples submitted to the competition received awards, while Dorlion Special Series was deemed worthy of the Premium Award, the highest category of the competition.
The award ceremony, hosted by Didim Municipality, was attended by Didim Mayor Hatice Gençay, Didim District Director of Agriculture and Forestry İlker Çolak, President of the Zeytindostu Association Hilmi Yıldırım, Secretary General Seçil Tireli, and, representing Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, Head of the Department of Agricultural Services Hale Senem Acar, Agricultural Engineers Sevgi Mişe and Canan Aydemir, as well as many guests.
Expressing her satisfaction in hosting such an event, Mayor Gençay presented the Premium Award to Head of the Department of Agricultural Services Hale Senem Acar.
REACHED THE TOP IN THE PREMIUM CATEGORY
In this year's competition, a total of 105 samples were evaluated, 88 of which were awarded, while only Dorlion (Eskişehir Middle Sakarya Valley), Tane Zeytuni (Şirince), Özcan Özlem Ünlü Sütlü (Yatağan, Muğla), Fermarin Naturals (Milas, Muğla) and Pak Olive (Yatağan, Muğla) olive oils advanced to the Premium category. Oils that presented a high level of harmony in aroma diversity, persistence and sensory richness were evaluated in this special category. The inclusion of Dorlion Special Series in this distinguished list demonstrated that the brand has reached international quality standards. The samples were subjected to chemical analysis within the scope of the Turkish Food Codex and then underwent sensory evaluation through blind tasting under notary supervision.

PRIDE OF CENTRAL ANATOLIA: ALL 4 AWARDS FROM DORLION
While the Northern and Southern Aegean regions stood out in the regional distribution of the competition, it was noteworthy that all four awards from Central Anatolia belonged to the Dorlion brand.

In his speech, President of the Zeytindostu Association, Hilmi Yıldırım, emphasized that Eskişehir has written an exemplary quality story in a short time and stated that olives grown especially in Sarıcakaya stand out with their high oleocanthal and polyphenol values.
Stating that these high values obtained in the first trials conducted in 2023 are extremely important for Türkiye's olive sector, Yıldırım said that a production approach focused on health, quality and high phenolic content is being successfully maintained. He also noted that training activities for producers in Eskişehir continue without slowing down.
