ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN IN RURAL DISTRICTS
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality has launched a significant educational program to raise environmental awareness in children at an early age. The training sessions focused on climate change and the measures they can take individually.
The training sessions, organized at ESMEK course centers under the coordination of the Metropolitan Municipality's Climate Change and Zero Waste Department, provided children with information on climate change and environmental awareness.
At events held in Sarıcakaya, Mihalgazi, Çifteler, and İnönü districts, children were informed about the fundamental causes and impacts of climate change through presentations. Comprehensive information was also provided on individual measures.
The training sessions addressed topics such as the use of renewable energy sources, the importance of recycling, efficient water use, and reducing carbon footprints. The activities were interactive, with question-and-answer sessions, and children's questions were answered by experts.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality emphasized the crucial importance of fostering environmental awareness at an early age for establishing a sustainable lifestyle culture in the long term. In this context, it emphasized that environmental and climate-themed informative events will be expanded and continued in rural districts.
