MEDALS AWARDED AT THE 2025 STILLWATER CANOEING TURKISH CHAMPIONSHIP

The "2025 Stillwater Canoeing Turkish Championship," organized jointly by the Turkish Canoe Federation and Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, was a scene of great excitement at Sarısungur Reservoir. Metropolitan Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, sharing in the athletes' enthusiasm, said, "We're so glad you came, and we're so glad we're all experiencing the unifying power of sport together."

The "2025 Stillwater Canoeing Turkish Championship," part of the Turkish Canoe Federation's 2025 activity program and hosted by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, has concluded.

602 athletes from 45 clubs across Türkiye, including athletes from the Eskişehir Metropolitan Sports Club, participated in the competitions.

The four-day championship featured the 1000-meter and 500-meter heats on the first day, the 200-meter heats, semifinals, and finals on the second day, the 500-meter semifinals and finals on the third day, and the 1000-meter semifinals and finals on the fourth day.

At the end of the breathtaking races, medals were presented to the winning athletes at a ceremony hosted by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, Turkish Canoe Federation President Alper Cavit Kabakçı, ESKİ General Manager and Turkish Canoe Federation Board Member Oğuzhan Özen, Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department Director Tezcan Al, and other dignitaries.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce expressed her great pleasure in hosting such an event in Eskişehir, saying, "As the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we are always ambitious in water sports, especially in stillwater canoeing. Winning the races is important, but what truly matters is participating and being here. We are so glad you came, and we are so glad we are all experiencing the unifying power of sports. We were delighted to host you in Eskişehir. With these sentiments, I congratulate all the athletes who participated in the event."

Turkish Canoe Federation President Alper Cavit Kabakçı said, "As every year, Eskişehir is hosting a magnificent event. I thank everyone involved, especially our Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce."

The athletes stated that they had a very enjoyable four-day championship in Eskişehir, noting that the Sarısungur course is one of the best in our country and expressing their gratitude.
