Young people from Adıyaman and Nicosia were hosted in Eskişehir as part of the "Sister Cities Camp," organized by the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. The camp, which aims to strengthen cultural ties and foster solidarity, featured vibrant events and meaningful gatherings.
As part of the camp, young people had the opportunity to experience Eskişehir's historical and cultural riches. Participants visited key locations such as the Küllüoba Excavation Site, the Odunpazarı Museum District, the Sazova Science, Culture, and Art Park, Yazılıkaya, a boat tour on the Porsuk River, and Kentpark Beach, creating unforgettable memories.
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, who met with the young people, expressed her pleasure at the meeting, saying, "As the Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, we are delighted and honored to welcome the young people from Adıyaman and Nicosia to our city. With the Sister Cities Camp, we aim to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and solidarity between us, share our cultural riches, and create new memories together. It is invaluable to us to meet with you, hear your ideas, and discover our differences while also seeing our commonalities. Eskişehir embraced you with its history, cultural heritage, artistic spirit, and youthful spirit. You both had fun and made new friendships during this camp. I hope this solidarity continues."
Onur Güler, visiting from Nicosia, said, "We have been in Eskişehir for three days and have seen its cultural values here. Eskişehir is a city that is incredibly developed in terms of history, nature, and environment, beyond what we know. We thank Eskişehir's first female Mayor, Ayşe Ünlüce, for providing this opportunity."
Taha Yusuf Üzümcü, a student from Adıyaman, said, "We saw the historical and natural beauty of Eskişehir. First and foremost, I would like to thank our Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce and Adıyaman Mayor Abdurrahman Tutdere. Eskişehir is both a beautiful city and very clean. I hope every province in our country will take your city as an example, and Eskişehir will always be a model for its magnificent cleanliness."
Adıyaman Municipality Human Resources and Education Director Abdurrahman Kılavuz, Cultural and Social Affairs Director İsmail Günay, and Nicosia Municipality External Relations Officer Zehra Beyar also expressed their great pleasure in being in Eskişehir and thanked Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce for her interest.
The camp, which attracted great interest from the young people, not only strengthened the bonds established between the sister cities but also provided an opportunity for different cultures to come together and blend together.
