“WE WILL WORK TOGETHER FOR A HOPE-FILLED PRODUCTION”

Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality provided milking machine support to buffalo breeders in İnönü district last year. Thanks to the milking machines given to 41 buffalo breeders, 12 of whom were women, producers obtained efficient milk. Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, who stated that the works supporting rural development will continue to increase, said, “The way to development in rural areas is to be with our local producers. With this understanding, we will be with our producers not only today but also tomorrow. We will continue to work together for a stronger, more productive and more hopeful Eskişehir.”

With the project carried out by the Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department, a significant increase in milk quality was experienced in small family businesses thanks to the milking machines and post-milking dipping solution provided to members of the Eskişehir Province Breeding Buffalo Breeders Association.

With this equipment that enables efficient and hygienic milk to be obtained, producers both saved time and increased product efficiency. Particularly, the fact that women producers benefited from this support contributed to the strengthening of women's labor in rural areas.

Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce stated that the work supporting rural development will continue to increase and said that they will be with local producers.

Referring to the importance of women's power in rural areas, Mayor Ünlüce said, “We know how important efficiency and hygiene are in agriculture and animal husbandry. Therefore, thanks to this project we implemented through our Agricultural Services Department, we have achieved a significant increase in milk quality and also contributed to our producers saving time and labor by reducing their labor force. The fact that our women producers have benefited the most from this support is a separate source of pride for us. Strengthening women's labor in rural areas is one of the cornerstones of social development. In this direction, we will continue to stand by women in every step we take and make their roles in the production process more visible and powerful. The path to development in rural areas is to stand by our local producers. With this understanding, we will stand by our producers not only today but also tomorrow. We are determined to support them not only with machinery and equipment; but also with knowledge, education and projects. We will continue to work together for a stronger, more productive and more hopeful Eskişehir.” Drawing attention to the importance of cooperation with the Metropolitan Municipality, Eskişehir Breeding Buffalo Breeding Union President Ali Rıza Sarıkaya said, “We have always worked in harmony with Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. We would like to thank Mayor Ayşe for her support.”

Stating that producers obtain quality milk with milking machines, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Veterinarian Eşref Genç said, “As Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality, standing by our local producers is not only economical, but also means protecting a cultural heritage. Buffalo milk has great value in terms of both health and the regional economy with its rich protein and fat content, high calcium content and unique flavor in traditional products. We see during our field visits that thanks to the milking machines we distribute, production has become easier, time has been saved and many of our producers have observed an increase in milk quality. This makes us extremely happy.”

Buffalo breeder Zöhre Kara, who said that farmers should always be supported, said, “Last year, our machines were provided by the Metropolitan Municipality. The new machine works better and cleaner; moreover, we use new technology. Thanks to them, our work goes better when there is no lack of support. Every support given to the farmer is very valuable. Thus, the farmer feels that there is someone by his side. We thank our Mayor for these favors you have done and expect more.”

Ferihan Sözsoy said, “We are producing more hygienic, healthier and better milk with the machines provided by the Metropolitan Municipality. We thank the Metropolitan Municipality for their support,” and expressed that the quality of milk has increased.
