16TH INTERNATIONAL ESKİŞEHİR CHILDREN YOUTH AND PUPPET THEATRES FESTIVAL HAS COME TO AN END
City Theatres decided to continue the tradition by combining the Children and Youth Theatre Festival and the Puppet Theatre Festival as of this year and they successfully completed the 16th festival, which was held free of charge between May 24-28. On the last day of the festival, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce watched the puppet play with the children in the area.
The 16th International Eskişehir Children, Youth and Puppet Theatre Festival, organized by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality City Theatres, with its rich content and a colourful programme with plays and workshops in different categories such as Puppet Theatre, Children's Theatre, Youth Theatre, was held between 24-28 May.
The interest of Eskişehir citizens in the events held on all stages of the City Theatres was quite high. Eskişehir residents filled the open areas and halls in the festival, where Eskişehir City Theatres, City Theatres Youth Stage, Antalya City Theatres and Bozüyük City Theatre, as well as foreign guests from the Netherlands, Sweden, Romania, Germany, Bulgaria, Spain and France, staged their plays for five days. Throughout the festival, Puppet Making and Playing and foreign language drama workshops were held free of charge for children. Some discussions were held on the problems of Children and Youth Theatres.
The festival, which featured 33 different events over 5 days, reached an audience of approximately 5,000 people as a result of the high number of participants in the opening shows and open-air events held in the city center, as well as the sold-out shows in all halls.
Coming to the festival area on the last day of the festival, visiting the puppet show workshop and closing the festival, Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce motivated Eskişehir art lovers and city theater workers with her interest in art events. The festival, which ended with the high energy of all participants, the satisfaction of foreign guests, and the happiness of the children filling the halls, managed to get full marks from the art lovers of Eskişehir.
