AWARD FOR DORLION OLIVE OIL PRODUCED BY THE METROPOLITAN MUNICIPALITY
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality achieved great success with the Dorlion brand olive oil it produced within the scope of the olive cultivation development project it carried out in the Central Sakarya Valley. Dorlion olive oil proved its quality once again by receiving awards with three different harvest varieties in the 18th Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil Quality Competition organized by the Zeytindostu Association.
The Metropolitan Municipality successfully continues the project it initiated to increase olive cultivation in the Central Sakarya Valley, to produce natural extra virgin olive oil with the early harvest cold pressing method and to reveal the values it adds to the region by having the minor components of this product analyzed. The Dorlion branded drinking natural extra virgin olive oil obtained within the scope of this project has so far met with consumers in 100 ml and 250 ml bottles, and recently, 5 liters of cooking olive oil was also offered for sale in the Metropolitan Municipality Producers' Markets.
Aiming to raise awareness about olive oil quality, Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality received great acclaim at the 18th Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil Quality Competition organized by Zeytindostu Association. In the competition, which was held with unlabeled bottles and coded in the presence of a notary, completely blind tasting method, experts made an objective assessment. In this prestigious competition, which seeks the highest level of quality in every drop, Dorlion, the registered brand of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality; reinforced its quality standards by winning silver with its 2023 Early Harvest Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil and 2024 Special Series Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil products, and bronze with its 2024 Mature Harvest Natural Extra Virgin Olive Oil product.
Chef Ahmet Güzelyağdöken presented special dishes prepared using Dorlion olive oil and other olive oils participating in the competition to the participants. These unique dishes reflected the flavor of olive oil in the best way and offered a remarkable experience during the competition process.
Sevgi Mişe, a staff member of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Agricultural Services Department, who received the award on behalf of the municipality, thanked everyone who contributed to Dorlion olive oil achieving this important success.
These awards have not only increased the interest in Eskişehir's olive oil, but have also been a great source of motivation for olive producers in the region. The Dorlion brand will continue to contribute to the development of olive cultivation by maintaining its quality in the future.
