3 MUNICIPALITIES PARTICIPATE IN COLLABORATION PROTOCOL FOR STRAY DOGS
Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ayşe Ünlüce, Odunpazarı Mayor Kazım Kurt and Tepebaşı Mayor Ahmet Ataç signed an important cooperation protocol for the sterilization of stray dogs. The protocol aims to make joint efforts for the healthy life of stray dogs in Eskişehir.
In line with the signed protocol, Odunpazarı and Tepebaşı Municipalities will sterilize stray dogs and perform digital identification procedures. Then, these dogs will be delivered to the Animal Shelter and Natural Living Area operated by the Metropolitan Municipality.
Odunpazarı Municipality; While Çifteler, Günyüzü, Han, Mahmudiye, Sivrihisar districts carry out their work regarding stray dogs at the Animal Shelter, Tepebaşı Municipality will carry out work for dogs in Alpu, Beylikova, İnönü, Mihalgazi, Mihalıççık, Sarıcakaya districts at the Natural Life Center.
Within the scope of the protocol, a “Coordination Center” will be established by Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality. This center will forward the reports and complaints from the public to the relevant district municipalities as soon as possible. For dog complaints from rural districts, dog collection vehicles belonging to the relevant municipalities will be used and the dogs will be taken to care centers.
Stray dogs will be recorded with procedures such as neutering, treatment, parasite control, vaccination and digital identification. As a result of these procedures, stray dogs will be kept under care at the Natural Life Area, where Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality's work on the Seyitgazi road has come to an end. While the adoption process continues, attention will be paid to the welfare, care and health of the animals.
Municipalities in Eskişehir will ensure that stray animals live in safer and healthier environments through steps such as neutering stray dogs, conducting health checks, and providing digital identification.
